Deuteronomy 2:1 KJV
Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea, as the Lord spake unto me: and we compassed mount Seir many days.
How would it feel to see something within your grasp, just leave? You were so close to getting it, yet at the very brink of laying hands on it, you lose it.
Almost everyone has come to this point in their lives, the extent of pain at the loss may depend on the the degree to which that ambition was sought.
To a man like Moses, this was the heaviest blow he was dealt with in his entire ministry. At his hand, a million miracles had been wrought, yet this very one thing was going to elude him.
Irrespective of who you are, there may be such moments in your life when the milk has already been spilled. Even spiritually, nothing can be done to salvage that particular situation.
Turn around, like Moses, and move on. Focus your energies on a new cause instead and chart a new path that may bring you some happiness. God will accompany you in your new pursuit, but won’t help you cry over what is lost.
Have a blessed 2018.
