Leviticus 19:9-10 KJV
And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest.
[10] And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the Lord your God.
If you cast your minds back to one of the encounters Jesus had with the Pharisees, they accused His disciples of plucking ears of corn on the Sabbath.
This is what the Law calls Gleaning and the practice stayed with the Jews for a very long time.
Indeed, the poor have always been with us and will forever be. Their presence doesn’t prove the absence of God as some hold, but rather for the demonstration of His Love through you and I.
It is very important for you to think about the poor and the less privileged. Even though you work and earn your own money, it is very prudent to put something aside for Charity.
Do not reap all the harvest of your fields. Make the effort, don’t just think it, put it into action. Take real steps to do charity. If it’s not planned, it may not happen. Don’t just save your money for the future, push a few notes into your Poor Peoples Fund you manage at home.
Have a blessed Friday.
