BLOOD FOR LIFE – Wed, Nov 15, 2017

Leviticus 17:12-13 KJV

Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.

[13] And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.

Whenever my uncle had to slaughter a fowl for the kitchen, he would call us, the young boys to the backyard to teach us how to go about it. It was never a pleasant experience for me, though my other cousins were eager to learn. I actually never learnt it!

But I remember asking one time why he always dug a hole in the soil instead of just washing the blood away in the gutter. “That’s where blood goes,” was his response. “The gutter is not its right place.”

So this practice of burrying blood in the earth and covering it with dust is not new to most of us. It had been passed on to this extent because most cultures indeed believe the life of anything is in its blood. This reasonably makes blood the single most important component of any living body/being.

So imagine how you would feel, if an important personality, like H.E. Nana Addo, donated blood to save you/your son in the hospital. That feeling of self worth would be over the roof. No.. You just can’t put that feeling in words.

Jesus, the King of Kings, gave His blood for you so you may live. Think about this.
Have a blessed day.
