Exodus 15:11 KJV
Who is like unto thee, O Lord , among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
Many of the old songs we sang in church and even some of the recent ones were directly lifted from scripture, often telling of the situation in which the writer found him/herself in.
I was told the story behind the song “Will your anchor hold in the storms of life” when I was a pupil in elementary school. Recently, when I was felt the heaviest blow in my life, I found myself singing this same song. The situation simply triggered it.
While I admit that songs have different purposes, most of them are written to lift up our souls when we are down or remind of who gave the victory.
Nothing’s new under the sun… so is your situation. Look for a song that can lift you up out of same and sing your heart out. Relief / uplifting of your heart and soul isn’t far off.
Have a blessed day.
