Genesis 50:19-20 KJV

And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?

[20] But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

What would you do, when a clean opportunity to pay back a brother comes your way? An opportunity so legitimate and rational that nobody would ever question why you paid them back?

Joseph suggests to us today that instead of looking at the face value of what was done to you, rather look for the real reasons why God permitted that to be done to you. Wisdom had taught him that all that happened to him was for the real reason of saving his father’s entire family.

You are only being merely shallow if you see the wickedness in what was done to you. Discern the real reasons why God permitted it to happen to you the way it did.

Perhaps you’d realize that a payback is not what you’ll need to dish out, but like Joseph, you’d find the heart to embrace them all and nourish them. Dig deep down and find the real reasons.
