Genesis 37:21-22 KJV
And Reuben heard it , and he delivered him out of their hands; and said, Let us not kill him.
[22] And Reuben said unto them, Shed no blood, but cast him into this pit that is in the wilderness, and lay no hand upon him; that he might rid him out of their hands, to deliver him to his father again.
One silent personality who ensured that the prophesy and mandate in Joseph’s life was fulfilled is Reuben, his elder brother.
Reuben was very instrumental in the salvation plan of his household; a plan that would see Joseph on top eventually… yet God would use Reuben to protect the plan, His plan.
Reuben was Jacob’s first son. He was known for sleeping with his father’s concubine, Bilhah, the mother of Dan and Napthtali (Gen 35:22), so a he didn’t have a good family record. Yet he may not have been an entirely evil man.
We read of the good he did for Joseph and how that would eventually bring sustain the plan God had for His people.
God can actually use anybody, I mean just anybody, so don’t expect help from only the body of Christ. Isaiah 60:5 says “…the forces of the Gentiles shall come to you.”
Don’t write people off, until God writes them off.
Have a blessed day.
