Genesis 28:16-17 KJV

And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not.

[17] And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.

One day in church, I saw a lady ask a little girl to step out and eat her snack. The little girl’s mum would not take those words kindly, so she confronted the lady. Her response was simple. She whispered into the mum’s ears, “teach her to revere God’s presence.”

Things are very different in our time now, and in as much as everything is diluted, so does the ‘Presence of God’ seem watered down.

I wish there was a way to go back into time to see Jacob’s initial reaction when he figured out he had just spent the night at the gate of heaven.
God’s house and God’s presence is still sacred in our time.

How you revere His presence is also an indicator of your faith level. What’s your posture when you meet Him in your devotions? How serious are you in your Encounter moments with Him?
