Genesis 29:31-32 KJV
31. And when the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren.
32. And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Surely the Lord hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me.
Leah must have been a very depressed woman. Right from the time she and Rachel were introduced, we are told her younger sister was more beautiful, and probably received more favour than she did.
To add to her troubles, her father used her as tool for his schemings. She got married to man who never loved her… What anguish!!! Leah may have contemplated suicide at a point.
When nothing ever seemed to favour her, the Lord came through for her. The Lord remembered her… her cries and sobs went up to the Lord and He responded in her favour.
Don’t be too much of a hard guy to cry to Him if your present situation demands it. Your Reuben may just be on the way. May God notice and respond to your affliction today in Jesus’ name.
Have a blessed day. #CarllyDevotionals #1ChapterADay #OCP
