Genesis 22:8 KJV
And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
In one of the most famous bible stories of all time, Isaac asked his father, Abraham, where the lamb for the sacrifice was. The answer he gave is what I’d like us to consider this morning.
We usually tell children all manner of things when we want them to comply or when we feel they simply can’t understand or perceive a particular situation. We usually fabricate all manner of things to tell them.
I believe this was the position of Abraham when Isaac threw that all important question at him. He had to answer! Did he lie? Had God not clearly declared a lamb already? These were difficult moments… yet Abraham’s response became his get-out-of-jail card.
What he said became what God did, a pseudo-prohesy. I pray you get to that level of maturity where what you say becomes what is. May God work with your declarations when you find yourself in tight corners. May He provide a door of escape for you when you need it most, in Jesus’ name.
Have a blessed day. #CarllyDevotionals #1ChapterADay #OCP
