HELPING GOD – Wed, Aug 16, 2017

Genesis 16:5 KJV

And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the Lord judge between me and thee.

The account of Ishmael and how he was born to Abram’s household holds lots of lessons for us believers. When the suggestion was made by Sarai for Abram to consider Hagar, you’d realize that no mention was made of any form of hesitation from the man of God! 😊

Could it be that he himself had already considered the opportunity? Well, we don’t know… but he did consent to the move and we all know what happened.

Whenever we try to ‘help God’ in the name of being proactive, we end up creating a mess. It may be a little mess that God may eventually turn around for our own good, but the fact still remains, that it wasn’t His will.

Man needs help but God doesn’t. He wants your involvement but doesn’t want you to help Him, He is all sufficient. We only create more problems for ourselves when we ‘start helping God.’

Have a blessed day. #CarllyDevotionals #1ChapterADay #OCP
