Revelation 8:3-4 KJV
And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
[4] And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.
I liked the smell of incense in the office of my school headmaster when I was a little boy. Today, whenever I smell incense, I remember Mr. Nkrumah and all the nostalgic moments sitting in his office brought to me.
Many people have questioned the use of incense even in modern day worship. People have argued that incense has lost its significance and is needless in our worship today.
Well… in John’s visions of what is to come, he still sees a rendition of the ancient practise of burning incense and goes on to confirm that its offering presented the prayers of ALL the saints upon the golden altar. Now this is worth meditation!
Your prayers are presented to God as sweet smelling sabre, holy and acceptable unto Him. Don’t go finding demonic undertones to its use either. You may not see it or know it, but the more you pray, the more ‘smoke’ you produce in the heavens. 😎.
Have a blessed Friday.
