Hebrews 12:22-24 KJV
But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
[23] To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
[24] And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
I have a friend we affectionately call Pastor Otchere who wouldn’t stop reciting these verses aboves. Today as I chanced on it, I got convinced about it being one of the most beautiful thing that ever happened to Christianity.
It sharply contrasts the new covenant from the old, exposing some tenets of the old that have been perfected by the new.
What we have now is not like the one that makes people die when they touch an Ark, it is merciful.
It doesn’t call for daily sacrifice of animals, it is clean. 😊
It doesn’t need a high priest to offer certain prayers annually, it is free!!!
Indeed we have come to mount Zion, the city of the Living God. Welcome aboard my brother/sister, let’s fellowship with the innumerable company of angels.
