Hebrews 11:1-2 KJV
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
[2] For by it the elders obtained a good report.
I believe Hebrews 11 is the most exhaustive piece on Faith in the bible; believing and holding unto something one hasn’t beheld or apprehended, yet prepared to die for it.
Some of the names mentioned; Noah, Jacob, Sara, Rahab and even Abraham himself, were not perfect people. They were not immune to sin and error, but one thing was for certain…
They believed in a thing they had not yet seen. That is taking matters to another level, because sometimes people see things and yet do not believe, how much more those who do not see but still go ahead to believe. That is Faith!!! – a necessary requirement to see God.
Your efforts to be a righteous person are not the first prerequisites to see God, but rather your Faith. No wonder Jesus told Thomas when they finally met, “blessed are they who believe and yet haven’t seen.” May you hold on to His promises though you may not have seen them yet.
