Philippians 1:23-24 KJV
For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
[24] Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.
At times when I bring up the issue of death in a conversation, I get the impression people are readily dismissive of the subject.
Death is usually not a comfortable thing to talk about across many cultures. People say, “nobody wants to die but everybody wants to go to heaven.”
Probably people may want to enter by Elijah-style or Enoch-style. 😊
In his first letter to the Phillipians, Paul the apostle also chose life over death… but for a different reason, i. e. So that he could win more souls for the Lord, even though he knew very well death was “far better.”
Reflecting on this prompted a thought in my spirit: If your life is not helping save others, then probably you’re better of not living. This may sound harsh but think about it carefully. You should have been gone by now but for the sake of another. Do what you have to do!
Have a blessed day.
