Galatians 6:1 KJV
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
A lady friend of mine stopped attending church for a while. When I enquired I found out she had gotten pregnant though she had no husband.
Apparently, she had been scolded enough by her colleagues in their women’s society. She wasn’t prepared for more salt in her injury hence her decision. I visited her a number of times and managed to make some good progress on her.
It’s sad when the first thing ‘the church’ considers when one of its own errs, is to ridicule and dish out scorn. This is not godly but devilish. Paul the apostle advises otherwise. He doesn’t condone wrong but offers a better approach to those who fault.
The church is made up of humans. Humans err.
Help bring those who fall back up and let’s keep growing the numbers, this is the will of God.
