2 Corinthians 12:7 KJV
And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
Paul the apostle saw a multitude of revelations in his time. In fact, so many were these revelations that he struggled to differentiate between his own physical life and spiritual state at times. I wonder how a man like Paul would have been regarded in our time.
Realising it was a thing permitted by God, Paul lived with this ‘thorn in his flesh.’
Many gifted ministers find themselves in a position like this, but either attribute it to the devil or deny it completely.
Indeed, the guy was so gifted that a couple of times he was caught up in the heavens, heard the tongues of angels. Now, that is indeed special. Yet, he was man, so God would introduce an affliction in his life, to be a check on him.
Seeking the face of the Lord would reveal what is a hindrance by the enemy or what is supposed to be a check from God. Don’t go be-deviling every affliction in your life as if your God is not living, pay attention too to the positives inherent.
Have a blessed day.
