TOUTING THE WEAKNESSES TOO – Wed, Jan 11, 2017

2 Corinthians 11:30 KJV

If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.

When we were learning to write argumentative essays in Junior High school, I remember our teacher telling us to adopt the strategy of ‘a Ga woman.’ According to our teacher, to begin a fight, the Ga woman would list all her weaknesses  and shortcomings before attacking her opponent.

This approach ensures her opponent doesn’t dwell on the same issues against her.

Paul the apostle adopts a similar strategy. Rather than boasting about his accomplishments, he’d speak of his challenges as an apostle in the Lord.

These were no mere occasions. Take time to read through v23 – 28, to appreciate the occasions that toughened the apostle and culminated into what he became in his time.

No cross is easy. Speak more of your resilience (granted by the grace of God) in ministry, highlighting the hardcore hurdles you may have surmounted, so other may be encouraged in theirs as well.

Have a blessed day.
