KNOWLEDGE THAT BREEDS SIN – Fri, Dec 23, 2016

1 Corinthians 8:11-12 KJV

And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?
[12] But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.

My first days in high school were very interesting. Learning new things in Biology and Mathematics felt too good. No matter how much you knew, you knew there was still more you didn’t know, “learning will never seem to end,” I usually thought.

And rightly so, …in my walk with God I’ve come to know I can never know all there is to know. If I should go by Paul’s words in verse 2 then even what I ought to know as an individual, I don’t know yet, how much more all there is to know.

My eyes were opened to sins we commit and yet never know we do. One such is when your knowledge causes another to sin, probably because they never knew what you know. Though you didn’t err in what you did, your friend did, and that makes you also sin. This sounds a bit complicated but a careful thought brings out the meaning.
Knowledge is power, but know how and where you portray, apply or teach that power. You may rather be causing more harm than you think.
Have a blessed Friday.
