Acts 8:13 KJV

Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

Simon was the local champion before Philip got in town, but because Philip worked with the power of God, he easily displaced Simon in the hearts of the local folks.
Whenever I hear/read this portion of scripture, I can’t help but notice the account of Simon the sorceror and his encounter with Philip, a very charged, anointed man of God.
What is evil will always give way to what is good eventually. This is guaranteed in this life or the next. Somehow, darkness will always succumb to the light. No need to dabble in the dark arts or any other sect to protect yourself.

Stay in the light that you have found. No need to switch camps and put yourself into what will fail eventually. Be with Philip, John and Peter, be with the winning team, you were born a winner.
