Acts 9:1-2 KJV

And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
[2] And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

I believe the Lord was able to use a personality like Saul very effectively because of the gentleman’s zeal for whatever he did. By nature he wasn’t a bench warmer.

If you put Saul in your political party today, you are sure to see him turn out as either running mate or presidential candidate himself in the future. He did what he had to do well so far as he believed in it.

Jesus approves such  attitude to things in general and Paul himself would commend such an approach to things later in his ministry. See Col 3:17 and Col 3:23. No wonder He wrote half of the new testament.

Indeed, whatsoever you do, do it heartily… Sales folks appreciate this a lot. Prove your Christianity not just in church. Translate your zeal for the Lord in all other facets of your life.
