Luke 17:20-21 KJV
And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
When the Pharisees put a question about when to expect the the Kingdom of God to descend, Jesus gave a very profound response which kept me thinking over and over.
Jesus added that the Kingdom of God was already with them. He implicated Himself in that statement, in my opinion. So Jesus would warn them to manage their expectations, alluding to the days of Noah, when people never took his message with seriousness. (See v26 -27)
Too many of us expect the spectacular to happen whenever mention is made of the coming of the Son of man. Indeed we shouldn’t rule out the drama, but then again more than majority of us may miss it.
Nobody knows. Death may visit us before the Time, so that before we could say Jack, we are already before the Judgement Seat. Our focus, therefore, needs be on how prepared we are for our own death.
The Kingdom is here with you and I already, focus more on how prepared you are to meet your God individually, than on the overall drama all of Christiandom expects.
Have a blessed day.
