Matthew 20:11-12 KJV
And when they had received it , they murmured against the goodman of the house,
[12] Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.
One day while I was doing evangelism with a number of colleagues in Kumasi, we came across a man who seemed to know much about the bible. He wouldn’t allow us to share much with him.
He kept emphasising that when he knew the Lord, none of us was born. Then he’d drool into his days when he was the Youth Leader in his church and would go on and on and on.
Pondering over our experience with this man, I know a good number of us believers still take consolation in the fact that we were once on fire for the Lord, though not anymore. In such a state, we only allude perfectly to the parable Jesus told about the workers in the vineyard.
Those who join late are equally as important to the Lord as those who joined earlier. In fact, those who started earlier must strive to remain hot so they can instruct those who join and are yet to join.
Indeed the harvest is plenteous but the labourers are few. Let’s help recruit more labourers rather than discouraging them.
