UNFORGIVABLE SINS – Thu, Aug 18, 2016

Matthew 12:31 KJV

Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

I have had many people ask me, “so what at all is a sin against the Holy Spirit,” and I’ve often asked them to read the entire passage to understand the context in which Jesus made this comment.

More often than not, we read just single verses and want to fully grasp the import of the message, but we need to know that it is prudent to read just a little more, to make the most out of a particular verse.

When Jesus healed a man possessed with a demon, deaf and dumb, the Pharisees accused Him of doing so by demonic power. Yet Jesus did this by the Power of God, hence Jesus’s comments on unforgivable sins.

Whenever you attribute or ascribe the power of God to the devil you sin against the Holy Spirit. You (who is man and mortal) devalue, water down or put to shame the effective power of the Godhead by doing so, and there’s no forgiveness to such.

Be mindful of your utterances. Better shut up if you know not the source of which power is at work in another.

Have a blessed day.
