Zechariah 3:1 KJV
And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord , and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.
I found different words were used to describe Satan’s mission for standing next to Joshua in Zechariah’s vision. Satan was there to ‘resist,’ ‘oppose’ or ‘accuse’ Joshua.
My mind was cast back to the story of Jesus when satan met him the wilderness to ‘tempt’ Him. In another scenario satan obtained permission to ‘sift’ Peter.
I find it hard when some believers think they are too ‘big’ for satan to come near them. Indeed it is foolhardy to think so.
Clearly, satan has NO power over us, but to validate this claim and make it good, we MUST “walk in His ways and keep His charge” (See verse 7)
When the sons of God presented themselves in Job 1:6-7, satan did too.
He always wants a way to get to you and I, so don’t get beside yourself yet. Keep God’s charge and keep walking in God’s ways, then you are sure satan’s constant beckoning won’t yield anything.
Have a blessed Friday.
