​Haggai 2:23 KJV

In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith the Lord , and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen thee, saith the Lord of hosts.

A signet ring was the sign of a king’s authority. Whoever it was given to on any mission, was accorded much respect as would have been given the king himself.

So I wonder how Zerubbabel felt when these words dropped out of the prophet Haggai’s mouth, “…I will make thee as a signet; for I have chosen thee, saith the Lord of hosts.”

These are no mere words. Though the responsibilities that come with such a task may be daunting, the privileges are really enviable.

You and I do not just bear His signet, indeed WE ARE His signet ring, a seal of God’s authority and we need to demonstrate this. I pray you exercise this authority in your life daily.
