Micah 6:7-8 KJV
Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
[8] He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
On the day I became the prayer secretary to the Students’ Union in High School, the preacher for the day touched on this particular scripture, Micah 6:8, and asked me to make it my personal walking stick.
Three simple points emerge from this, as to what God requires from us His subjects:
1. To be just.
God appreciates people who are fair and treat others well, without prejudice.
2. Love and show Mercy.
Mercy is neutraliser of vengeance and anger. You need to be full of mercy so you can catch the eye of your God
3. Walk Humbly with your God.
I may not have lived them out as I should have, but I’ve never forgotten these three from Micah 6:8.
A requirement is a necessity!
How far have you come so far as these three are concerned?
Have a lovely day.
