The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.

If you’d ask me, I’d say the most important thing to God are the souls of his children. And chapters like Ezekiel 34 make me convinced I may not be far from right.

While attending marriage counseling classes, I remember one of the foremost lessons I learnt had to do with evangelising to your spouse. To the extent that a marriage that doesn’t promise to have a focus on eternal life, is not worth entering.

This love of God for His souls here on earth makes evangelism, by far, one of thr most important things for you and I. It is more like a generic core mandate for each of us.

So if you have failed to care for his souls, make amends now. Strength the diseased, heal the sick, visit the lapsed brothers.
By all means do something, care for His sheep, for these are far weightier than spending the whole night praying for yourself.
