Ezekiel 14:21 KJV
For thus saith the Lord God ; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?
Even before Christianity came to Ghana, we are told that our ancestors worshipped God through smaller gods and whenever there was a famine, they knew they had offended the gods.
Ezekiel outlined 4 severe judgements God plagued Jerusalem with when He wanted their attention:
1. The sword (Wars)
2. Famine/Drought
3. Wild beasts
4. Pestilence (Epidemics)
In their time, Israel saw these only when they sinned against God. How contrasting is this, because in our time we see and hear of these all the time: The wars never seem to end, food aid is constantly being provided for some countries.
We talk of the Bird and swine flus, the Ebolas, Pneumococal Meningitis and the Zika viruses. They never end! In my opinion, these are only manifestations of the level of evil that abound in our time.
I pray you and I shall separate ourselves and be part of the remnant of this generation that knows the Lord, so that even in these times, we shall be comforted (v22 – 23).
Have a blessed day.
