Ezekiel 13:20 KJV
Wherefore thus saith the Lord God ; Behold, I am against your charms, wherewith ye there hunt the souls like birds, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt like birds.
Some months back we read from Isaiah, about the deeds of false prophets and how much God detested what they did. Jeremiah also had his shot at same.
But Ezekiel includes a new twist to the equation. Not only does he condemn the false prophets but also the women in the temple who slew the souls of men through charms and divination. They ‘prophesied’ to the people but were actually soul takers in disguise. Now that is dark!
It is not wrong to expect very good things from the Church, in our time. But it also folly to embrace everybody and everything that comes from the Church without subjecting it to ‘prayer’ and sometimes ‘REASON.’
Spiritual issues may not follow logic and common sense, yet common sense in itself (backed with prayer) is a gift from God that needs to be used. So know where you draw the line between the two.
Have a blessed day.
