LAMENTATIONS – Wed, Apr 06, 2016

Lamentations 5:15-18 KJV
The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.
[16] The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
[17] For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim.
[18] Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.

The songs of the Jews would go on and on and on, without end. The sound of a dirge would be heard each day for a very very long time.

History has it that their exile spanned about 70 years if my memory serves me right. This should be about 3 or 4 generations. Some folks never saw freedom, they only learnt about freedom through the oral tradition.

God’s wrath can be devastating indeed. Thankfully in our generation He’s tempered justice with Mercy; Grace abounds, so that we can escape an even more devastating end in Hell fire.

I don’t want to be singing a similar dirge in Hell like those of the Jews Jeremiah wrote about in this book of Lamentations. So I’ve decided to do the wiser thing, to live for the God who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Gal 2:20) You too should do same.

Have a blessed day.
