Jeremiah 52:28 KJV
This is the people whom Nebuchadnezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand Jews and three and twenty:
Last night, I went to see “Wogbejeke,” A beautiful piece of the Theatre Arts, written and directed by Chief Moomen. All was fun till we got to the era of Colonization and the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.
You could feel the emotion written all over the faces of the audience as a sensitive nerve was being struck on each of their bodies.
Those were days no African present that night was too proud of.
I believe the feeling was worse for Jeremiah as he inked these words in Jer 52:28. It was finally happening, all that he and others had prophesied. Everything gave way for God’s decree to materialize.
Individually, we all have dark moments in our past lives we may not want to remember, days we wish we could completely wipe out of our memories.
May we rather learn from these horrid moments and pledge not to create the atmosphere for their recurrence.
Have a blessed Friday.
