Jeremiah 36:32 KJV
Then took Jeremiah another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah; who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire: and there were added besides unto them many like words.
Sometimes I wonder what the difference is. I wonder why we are unable to have prophets like Jeremiah, who blatantly told the government of the time, exactly what God wanted to tell them, without mincing words.
Are the prophets of our time afraid?
Or is it because of democracy?
Has God stopped speaking in that manner to men of God? Or probably the grace of God is too abundant so all things are permissive.
Whatever the answers to these questions are, one thing is for sure, that God is very much aware.
Jeremiah was equally scared. In fact, he was even incarcerated at the time he got these words written, yet he had chosen a path he couldn’t refrain from.
At a time when kings were more powerful than they are today; when kings could determine who should live or die, Jeremiah still stood for God and spoke against them.
Where are the Jeremiahs of our time?
Have a blessed day.
