Jeremiah 31:29-30 KJV
In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.
But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.
As a young Christian, I was delighted when I came across a scripture like this. First of all, I did not understand why children should suffer for the sins of their parents, so scriptures like these brought much relief to me.
Today when I read the same thing, I actually see what Jeremiah was trying to put across by making such statements. He was ushering in the NEW COVENANT.
Jeremiah’s words in v29-34 mark a very significant milestone in the life of believers, and in my opinion everyone needs to study and understand them deeply. You owe yourself a duty to know both covenants.
Jeremiah only spoke about what he saw, he didn’t live in it. Thankfully you and I are the ones living by this New Covenant. You need to prove that you know what this means. You need to study the scriptures and prove to God you know what you live for.
Have a blessed Friday.
