Isaiah 47:13 KJV
Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.

We all need counseling at one point or another. There’s always a need for another person in our lives. I believe that is why God welcomed the idea Jethro suggested to Moses in the wilderness.

But because God “seemed” too slow, his children began consulting astrologers, stargazers and monthly prognosticators (seers) as my version would put it.

Today people still have many other ‘counselors’ in place of the ‘slow’ God. But actually none of these can deliver us from the power of the ‘flame.’ (see v14).

It is not a wise thing to consult what cannot save you. In the end, both you and your consultant shall be fuel for the flame. In difficult times, let’s still hold on to our faith in Him, it pays to wait.
