Isaiah 39:2 KJV
And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.
People had heard of Hezekiah’s recovery from his illness and had come from far away Babylon to see the king in Jerusalem to wish him well. In turn he showed them round the palace and made them see ALL he had and had inherited.
Hezekiah could not read through the disguise. He exposed himself rather too quickly to his enemy, who Isaiah prophesied would later come to loot all that had been shown to him.
It is very important to know whom you share your deepest secrets, sensitive information, or business ideas with. Don’t be too eager to open your mouth to reveal what should be best known to you, at a particular time. Just zip up that mouth!
Too many people have lost valuables, crippled their ministries, missed opportunities, just because they said a little too much than they were supposed to. Be circumspect in your dealings with people, perhaps eventually, you may see the mask.
Have a blessed day.
