CALMING THE WATERS – Wed, Nov 25, 2015

Ecclesiastes 10:4 KJVcalming the waters
If the spirit of the ruler rise up against thee, leave not thy place; for yielding pacifieth great offences.

I know a guy who worked for a very difficult boss. In fact no one found it easy working under her, especially my friend, who was more like her personal assistant. His daily schedule comprised both corporate and domestic responsibilities.

He bore most of the heat that steamed from his boss and while some of his colleagues would just leave… he yielded. He always found a reason to get along well with her no matter how unbearable she proved. The last time I heard from my friend, he had been recommended by her boss to the board of directors.

His new role… He was the new boss of another branch. Guess what, most of those colleagues who couldn’t stand the heat of his boss, called to congratulate him on his new appointment.
Solomon the Preacher didn’t mince words when he talked about yielding to the ruler.

I have come to learn that, difficult as this may seem, yielding to an angered boss/superior, calms the waters and puts you in a better position to even lay a petition before him/her.
Don’t muddy the waters, when you can apply wisdom to have things work in your favour.

Have a blessed day.
