Proverbs 22:3 KJV
A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.
I was preparing to go speak somewhere and in my preparation I came across the passage where David feigned madness in order to escape a situation.
Another time a javelin was thrown at him in Saul’s house. David would not wait to ask questions, he just fled. David did many things a king wouldn’t do just so he could forge ahead.
It is neither a sin nor a crime for a Christian to avoid unnecessary warfare or engage in trouble. Indeed “the weapons of your warfare are not carnal,’ but that doesn’t require you fight every battle. Some battles must just be avoided.
God hasn’t given us a spirit of fear, but that of power and sound mind, yes… but He also gave us wisdom. Too many people have crippled their own ministries just because they treaded in unfamiliar territories.
Spare yourself the trouble when you can.
Have a blessed Friday.
