Psalm 59:11, 13 KJV
Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
[13] Consume them in wrath, consume them , that they may not be : and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.
David wrote this Psalm at a time when Saul had sent men to lay ambush at David’s house to capture him. It must have been a terrifying time for David.
A rich old man told me about the days in Ghana when it was almost a crime to be wealthy. He was picked up from his house by soldiers and was brutalized each day to confess how he made his wealth.
In David’s case, he never got caught. But even in those fearful moments he was able to pray that God would not completely destroy his enemies. He actually wanted them to live to see him become prosperous.
This is my prayer for you this Friday. That all who seek your downfall or retrogression would live to see you prosper and flourish in Jesus name. What they have set out to achieve will never materialize because He who keeps Israel (you) never sleeps nor slumbers.
Have a blessed Friday.
