Job 34:31 KJV
Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement , I will not offend any more :

One thing I’ve said many times after I had experienced what I felt was God’s chastisement was the same statement Elihu put before job in our verse for today.

The English Standard Version puts it like this:
Job 34:31 – “For has anyone said to God, ‘I have borne punishment; I will not offend any more;

How many times haven’t we all, while experiencing the pain or the consequence of our actions, said we will NOT offend any more? And yet when the pain is all gone we just simply forget and return to the very things we vowed not to repeat.

Most at times, pains last only for a moment, but are themselves suppose to be perfect reminders of our own limitations and who we are as mortals.
It takes the matured to see each painful occasion in our lives as Lessons which MUST be benefitted from.
