2 Chronicles 5:1 KJV
Thus all the work that Solomon made for the house of the Lord was finished: and Solomon brought in all the things that David his father had dedicated; and the silver, and the gold, and all the instruments, put he among the treasures of the house of God.
I live in a part of the world where continuity and sustainability are big issues. Political parties hardly continue work done by their predecessors of the opposition, irrespective of how good the work is.
Somehow, the trend is not only common place with politics and public service. It is attitudinal!
Even in places you least expect, like the church, this canker of ‘ditching’ what the other has done, is still prevalent.
“New King new law,” this is what one pastor told me when I enquired why an initiative of his predecessor was no longer being held.
But King Solomon would have none of this attitude.
He brought into the temple, ALL his father David had dedicated. In his wisdom, Solomon rather saw them as things that would make his own work easier and so should you.
That is the attitude of a wise man! Be wise to continue the good work that was started before you.
Have a blessed Friday.
