Samuel 12:13-14 KJV
And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the Lord . And Nathan said unto David, The Lord also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.
[14] Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.
The bible never failed to mention the great deeds of its mighty men of valour, it never failed to talk about their faith and exploits in the LORD… but unlike any other book, at the same time it never concealed the wickedness and shortfalls of its heroes.
It is The book of Truth, whose main subject, The LORD, is no respecter of persons, so that He even rebuked people like David and struck him.
Indeed sin is a reproach to the Lord. God forgave David alright but see verse 14…when we sin, we give occasion for the accuser to hit at God and point fingers at us.
Another thing sin does is to open more doorways for demonic attack. We break our spiritual defenses and become more gullible when we keep indulging in sin. I’ve had my fair share of attacks these past few months so I know exactly what I’m talking about.
It is His desire that you and I shall walk free of sin, so He can operate more freely in us.
Have a blessed Friday.
