WRONG ASSOCIATES – Wed, Nov 05, 2014

2 Samuel 10:3 KJV
And the princes of the children of Ammon said unto Hanun their lord, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? hath not David rather sent his servants unto thee, to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrow it?

It is easy to point out so many adages, clichés,  scriptures and local proverbs that admonish forming the right associations or having good company.

“Show me your friend and I will show you your character;” “Bad company corrupts good morals;” etc, etc, etc.
But how easy is it to break off ties we’ve formed for so long a time, especially when your geograhic locations hasn’t changed?

David attempted to extend a kind gesture to a new king, but things went sour and many people had to pay with their dear lives, just because the kings had the ‘wrong associates.

We don’t just need friends! We need like-minded friends who can understand or rightly interprete the circumstances we find ourselves in and make very reasonable (if not godly) recommendations.

Have a blessed day.
