And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

I don’t know how close you’ve ever come to dying, where you know for sure that in the next second, minute, hour or day, you are already a goner. At least I can count 4 of those experiences in my own life.

In one such experience, 2 extra seconds would have just sent me to the other side of life 🙏🏿. I found myself sleep-driving, and opened my eyes right in front of a bucket of an excavator. I veered off, by reflex, back into road and was twice “lucky” because no cars were approaching, a head-on collision would have been unavoidable there too.

Apostle Peter knew very well he wasn’t seeing the next day. Herod had done same with Apostle James (v2), finishing him with the sword. It was only a matter of time. But by some miracle, Peter found himself outside the city, by morning, a miracle he knew he had absolutely no hand in.

Our benefits from prayers go beyond financial blessings. Sometimes our very lives and the fact that we are living are enough testimonies that prayers work and activate angelic visitations in time of need. Stick to prayer, irrespective of situations, the gains are far reaching and may be intangible.
