1 Corinthians 1:18,21 KJV
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
[21] For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
Every major city in the world is known to have some slum communities and usually such communities are noted for all manner of things/vices. In Ghana, Nima, Sodom & Gomorrah are the few that come to mind.
In the days of Paul the Apostle, all of Rome knew what kind of people the Corinthians were. You would find strippers, gamblers, prostitutes, thieves in that big town, only second to Rome. No one expected any good out of the place, yet this is where St. Paul would found one of his largest churches.
The Corinthians were the least expected to embrace God, so Paul would say in v27-28 that “God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. The base things of the world, and things despised, has God chosen… to bring to nothing the things that are.”

When the elite seem to think you are foolish for carrying the message of the cross and believing in an old myth, don’t be worried at all. It’s no new thing. Keep on grinding and keep the focus, you’ll have the last laugh.
Have a blessed day.
