Romans 11:21-22 KJV

For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

[22] Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

I’ve heard very good debates about whether God, in all His loving kindness, could actually look on for people to burn in hell fire.

Of course, those who have argued against this motion are those who believe the all-forgiving God, could never do such a heinous thing, as shutting people in the fire.

But Paul the Apostle, makes this very clear when he presents a similar scenario to his audience in Rome. Even the natural branches (Jews) won’t be spared in their unbelief towards God, because He is both “good and severe.” He is Fire and Ice; He is two sides of the same coin. God is a loving Father, yet a Judge who is prepared to rewards the evils of this world.

I’d like to think of His goodness more often and remain within that side of the coin and I bet you do too. Let’s remain in Him so we don’t get cut off, hell is real.
