Ezekiel 6:9 KJV
And they that escape of you shall remember me among the nations whither they shall be carried captives, because I am broken with their whorish heart, which hath departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols: and they shall lothe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.
On a radio programme I was listening to yesterday while driving home, a woman complained to the host about how her husband’s desire for her had diminished.
According to her, childbirth had changed her looks and so didn’t feel she had that appeal anymore, which was making her husband look elsewhere.
Adultery in marriages is an age old problem, a thing I doubt will ever end. Whichever way you look at it, the other partner is usually left broken, especially when they have both come very far.
Israel dealt a lot with God on this level. Prophet Ezekiel would describe God’s heart as broken at this point, because of their adulterous lives. This kind of adultery was with other deities and not man. Other powers, forces, objects, etc that took their worship of God away from Him and rested it in the bosom of that which couldn’t even save themselves.
God hasn’t changed. His delight is for you to return His love for you in worship of Him. Don’t hand your love over to a phone, a TV show, money, food, fashion, or a group/society at His expense. That is whorish, that is adulterous.
Let’s make the effort to love Him with all of our hearts.
Have a blessed Friday. #TGIF
