Isaiah 66:7,9-10 KJV
Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.
Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the Lord : shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb ? saith thy God.
Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:
One of the clichés I remember very well from my Physical Chemistry lectures is “out of chaos comes orderliness.”
Israel went through many years of turmoil, in their own land and those of others. Messages from various minor and major prophets usually spelled doom for them, but in Isaiah’s final words, he made them understand that all were for their own good.
No form of chastening or chastisement seems cool in the beginning but we know what the intended purpose is. These are words I console myself with when the times are really hard. I know that in the end, the elect of the Lord will always prevail.
As we end the book of Isaiah and prepare for Jeremiah, my prayer for you is that God brings an end to your pains/troubles as you wait on Him. And that the joy of a new birth will visit you as He promised through Isaiah, erasing all the days and months of toil and pain.
Have a blessed day.
