Isaiah 39:2 KJV
And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.
Learning from ones own experiences is not a pleasant move, though one learns a lot in the process. I personally prefer learning bitter lessons from the experiences of others.
In my quest for sponsorship I discussed a concept in its entirety with a good number of people. We had come far with this and only needed some good money to execute. Before we could say Jack, an ally of one of our potential sponsors was rolling out our idea. What was worse, the wording was not even touched, everything came out exactly the same way we had planned it, word for word!
Hezekiah made a terrible mistake, after the Lord had blessed him with 15 extra years. He showed it all to the enemy! He showed it all!!!
True… he didn’t know they were going to be enemies to the kingdom at the time, but that was no excuse, judgement followed later, through the prophet Isaiah (v5-7).
I pray God gives us the wisdom to know what to reveal and whom to reveal it to. Too many of us have crushed/truncated destinies simply because we said so much to the wrong people.
Shakespeare said “there’s no art to find the mind’s construction on the face.” May He deliver us from those who come to rob our futures.
Have a blessed day.
