Song of Solomon 3:5 KJV
I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.
Many bible scholars have argued out why they believe Songs of Solomon shouldn’t be in the Bible. A book that clearly depicts explicit love between lovers shouldn’t find it’s way in there.
Those who have argued for it to be there liken the love between the lovers to that of God and His church (the body of Christ).
Even though this may not be necessarily or wholly true, considering the author, we can jump to one fact, that God is also interested in love between a lover and his beloved. And this could be erotic!!!
One caution that the beloved throws out there however, which is our focus for today, is for that love to be awakened at the right time. The lover MUST NOT awaken or stir up love, till he is ready. This wrong timing has been the cause of many issues to the body of Christ, the church.
Experimenting with erotic love is a dangerous thing, and a very difficult situation to guard against, especially in our generation. Yet the God of love put this in place for the benefit of His subjects.
Be careful out there, do not awaken love, till you are ready.
