Psalm 92:13-14 KJV
Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.
[14] They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;
An old woman called Auntie Mary lived in my neighbourhood when I was young. We went to the same church and often met there too for the morning devotions.
Everything about her was very slow. In fact, in my eyes she lived a life of slow-motion because she even spoke slowly. But that was not the most striking thing about Auntie Mary. Her faith was a big challenge to me.
Even when I stayed an hour or two after devotion to do my own devotion, Auntie Mary did more. No matter how much time I spent in God’s presence, Auntie Mary just did more! Her devotion at the age was just phenomenal. Her body frame and weakness would not even deter her, she’d stand, kneel, walk and assume any other posture you could think of.
She defines what is means to flourish in old age to me. Not her wealth alone but outstanding faith to do this for well over 35yrs. I pray for more Auntie Marys in us all so we don’t lose our faith, nor make excuses in our old age. May our faith never fail, in Jesus name.
Have a blessed day. #TGIF
